Introducing New Breed
New Breed is a fresh church planting movement for those who are willing to give everything and stop at nothing to see the gospel of Jesus take root in the nation of Wales once more.
Compelled by a passion for God’s glory and compassion for the lost, New Breed churches are not afraid to take risks and break out of the established mould as we pursue a vision to plant cutting-edge churches in Wales that are Biblical, Missional, and Radical.
- Biblical – Faithful to Scripture.
- Missional – Fulfilling the Great Commission.
- Radical – Engaging culture without fear or compromise.
Working in partnership with Acts 29, New Breed seeks to strategically plant churches, to assist in the training of individuals who feel called to church planting, and to provide a supportive network for those who have already planted churches.
The vision for New Breed was given to Peyton Jones in 2005, and has since been shared, shaped and refined over countless cups of coffee with Dai Hankey. While the vision continues to unfold and evolve as we try to keep up with what God is doing, the core commitment to planting biblical, missional and radical churches in Wales remains constant.
If that scratches where you’re itching, we’d love to hear from you!

Hi came across your blog. I am praying about moving back to Cardiff (in the Bay) after pastoring churches and mission teams for 30 years (I’m still young started when I was 21, a child prodigy really!)
My wife and i have been exploring the possibility of planting a more simple/ organic/missional/monastic non congregational community in the bay among the business and social community around the bay. Is this something New Breed would be interested in.?
I have served for the last 9 years in a independant evangelical congregregation model of church as senior pastor. Ten years previous I led a cell based network/house church community church in York. I am praying about relocating back to Cardiff my wifes home town where I was a pastor in the city temple when I was in my 20′s.
My passion is missional new monasticism and praying about ‘early retirement’ from traditional church mission and ministry and giving my next 10 years (possibly my last)doing fresh expressions of church and church planting.
any interest out there in Wales in reviving the spirit of St. Illtyd of Llantwit Major?

Hi Carl thanks so much for getting in touch. Would love to chat with you about church planting in Cardiff with New Breed. I guess one of the most important things is to make sure that we’re on the same page theologically. New Breed is now an official partner with Acts 29 and therefore it might be worth your while to check out the vision and values page of their website (http://www.acts29network.org/about/)
If you reckon that there could be mileage there then get in touch and we’ll get talking! You on Skype?
God bless and thanks so much for getting in touch.
